Choosing a breast form, mastectomy bra, breast shaper, or post-surgical garment is a deeply personal experience. At MedCOR, we understand that every woman's journey is unique, and we are committed to providing a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment where you can feel comfortable, respected, and cared for.
Our goal is simple: to help you find solutions that fit your body, your lifestyle, and your personal sense of confidence. Whether you are newly recovering from surgery or years beyond treatment, we are here to guide you every step of the way.
What to Expect During Your Appointment
From the moment you arrive, you'll be welcomed by a caring member of our team and escorted to one of our private fitting rooms. We understand that discussing and addressing breast care needs can feel emotional or overwhelming, and we strive to create a calm, comfortable experience where you never feel rushed.
During your appointment, we'll take the time to learn about your surgical history, lifestyle, goals, and any concerns you may have. Your Certified Mastectomy Fitter (CMF) will perform measurements, discuss available options, and help you try on a variety of breast forms, bras, breast shapers, or post-surgical garments. Together, we'll evaluate comfort, appearance, support, and fit to find the solutions that work best for you.
Many women are surprised by the difference a properly fitted bra or breast form can make—not only in how clothing fits, but in how they feel about themselves.
Breast care fitting is a specialized field that requires extensive training, experience, and compassion. MedCOR is proud to have two Certified Mastectomy Fitters (CMFs) on staff, providing patients with access to a depth of expertise that is uncommon throughout much of New England.
Having two CMFs means greater appointment availability, collaborative problem-solving for complex fitting situations, and the confidence that comes from working with professionals who focus specifically on breast care solutions every day. Whether you need a simple bra fitting or a highly customized solution following surgery, reconstruction, or treatment, our team has the knowledge and experience to help.
Why Our Certified Mastectomy Fitters Matter
What to Wear to Your Fitting
A few simple clothing choices can help make your fitting experience even more comfortable and productive:
Choose a top with a front closure: A button-front or zip-front shirt makes it easier to change in and out of garments while trying different products during your appointment.
Bring a Favorite Fitted Shirt: Pack a plain, relatively form-fitting t-shirt or blouse in your bag to try on at the very end of the fitting. Putting this on over your new bra and prosthesis allows you to check the symmetry, contour, and silhouette under your everyday clothes before making a final purchase.
Wear Separate Bottoms: Opt for pants, jeans, or a skirt rather than a one-piece dress so you only need to remove your clothing from the waist up.
For many women, a breast care fitting is about more than finding a product—it's about regaining comfort, restoring confidence, and feeling like themselves again. We consider it a privilege to be part of that journey.
At MedCOR, you'll find expert guidance, compassionate care, and a team dedicated to helping you discover solutions that support you every day.
Whether you're seeking a post-surgical garment, a mastectomy bra, a breast form, or simply answers to your questions, we're here to help in a private, supportive environment designed with your comfort in mind.
